Glee Surpasses the Beatles for Most Billboard Hot 100 Chart Entries
Twist and shout, Gleeks! Glee surpassed The Beatles in the Billboard record books Wednesday, breaking the record for most songs on the Billboard Hot 100 by a non-solo act. The announcement comes one day after the Fox hit featured its first tune from the Fab Four, when Kurt (Chris Cofler) performed a stirring rendition of “I Want to Hold Your Hand.” The episode produced six new Billboard entries, pushing Glee to 75 songs, past The Beatles’ tally of 71. The Glee kids stand behind only James Brown and Elvis Presley among all acts. But then, Glee is only three episodes into its second season.
